One habit of his, that has carried over into both of his Guardians films for Marvel, has been including a cameo from musician Rob Zombie. The legendary rocker lended his voice to one of the characters in the first movie, and he will do the same when Vol. 2 hits theaters in a couple of weeks.
So, what’s the deal? Why does James Gunn include this one performer in each film? While speaking with Fast Company, the director had a pretty simple answer.
“Rob’s a friend, and he appeared in my first movie, Slither, so now it’s become my signature. But I love putting a lot of stuff in my movies for fans. In Slither, every street sign referenced a classic horror film. There were hundreds of them. I’m in service to those people who want to watch a movie again and again.”
