Six years have passed since Evan Peters last appeared on the big screen as Quicksilver in an X-Men movie, but the actor has hinted he’d be up for bringing the Marvel speedster back. After fans were first introduced to Pietro Maximoff, aka Quicksilver, in the comic book The Uncanny X-Men #4, Evans brought Quicksilver to the big screen in 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, reprising the role two additional times through 2019’s Dark Phoenix. As the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) continues to expand, Peters has reflected on his iconic big screen role and a hopeful reunion with mutant Magneto.

Fans have long hoped that Peters would one day return to the MCU after his WandaVision multiverse cameo. Asked by ComicBook’s Chris Killian if the constant questions and theories about his return as Quicksilver ever gets tiring, Peters admitted, “No, haha. No, actually. I’m curious…” Although the actor stopped short of revealing if he’ll ever actually return to the role, he did admit that he’s given some thought to what could come next for Quicksilver and what he would like to explore with the character:
“Yeah, anything really. I had such a blast playing that character. And, you got to dive a little bit into his home life is weird as it was,” Peters said. “But, but, yeah, sort of exploring that more would be interesting. And the relationship with Magneto would be pretty cool. Yeah. So, yeah, I don’t know. Knock on wood.”
Evans was speaking with Chris Killian for Tron: Ares, in which he stars as Julian Dillinger. You can see the full interview below:
Now Is the Perfect Time for Peter Evans’ Return as Quicksilver

Peters isn’t currently lined up for a return to the MCU, but the continued expansion of the Marvel multiverse makes now the perfect time for him to head back to Marvel. Ever since it was first introduced in the 2016 film Doctor Strange, characters and storylines throughout the MCU have interacted and crossed over, leading to star-studded blockbuster films.
The next in that lineup is the Russo brothers’ Avengers: Doomsday, a film that is already poised to bring several characters from the Fox X-Men era. Scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, that movie is set to bring back Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique. Avengers: Secret War, slated to hit theaters December 17, 2027, will also reportedly bring back iconic X-Men stars, leaving open the possibility of Peters’ return as Qicksilver
The MCU’s willingness to revisit the X-Men stories and the continued multiverse leaves the door open for Peters’ eventual return as Quicksilver, though fans will have to stick around to find out if their hopes come true. For now, fans can catch Peters when Tron: Ares hits theaters on October 25th.
