Shonen Jump might be getting ready to reveal its next big anime in the works as one series has kicked off a mysterious countdown to an even more mysterious announcement. Shonen Jump has been going through a lot of changes in the past year as not only have there been a lot of new series joining the rotation, there have been even more that have come to their end (or are planning too with their final arcs now in place). But at the same time, some of these franchises have gotten to reach a new level through official anime adaptations.

That’s why fans are excited to see what could be coming for Joumyaku and Mizuki Yoda’s Marriagetoxin. The series has been running with Shonen Jump+ since 2022, and has been a quiet hit with fans thus far. As many of that platforms franchises either end like Kaiju No. 8, or expand like Spy x Family, manga fans have been looking towards Marriagetoxin as the next one to potentially make the jump to TV screens. Especially now that it has kicked off a new countdown teasing a new announcement coming on October 1st in Japan.
Marriagetoxin Teases New Anime With Mysterious Countdown
The official social media account for Marriagetoxin has started a countdown to a “major announcement” coming on October 1st, and the hopes from the fans is that it’s a new anime adaptation. There are no major signs indicating that this might be the case, but a countdown towards such an announcement would make sense if it was leading towards an anime reveal. But at the same time, there’s also a chance that this countdown could instead be related to a major reveal about the manga like a new release or something in that realm. It’d be disappointing though.
There’s also the chance that Marriagetoxin could instead be readying to announce a potential final arc. This countdown would be a wild way to do so if it’s just getting fans excited for the manga’s grand finale, but it would also fall in line with a number of other Shonen Jump series that have seen ended their runs in the last few years. This potential announcement would be the bigger bummer of the two possibilities, however, so fingers crossed that an anime is what is in the works instead. Or it might even be both as some anime have been getting announced right as their manga have ended too.
What Is Marriagetoxin Anyway?

Joumyaku and Mizuki Yoda’s Marriagetoxin is one of the Shonen Jump 2020’s generation series that rides the popular wave of assassins taking the center stage. This era in particular had quite a few series where either assassins were hiding their true skills, or needing to survive a deadly world, but this one puts a romance spin on it all. With the main character trying to keep his sister from a forced marriage (as their clan wants her to provide an offspring), he’s teamed up with a “romance expert “marriage swindler” to try make it all happen.
It’d be a unique series to see play out with an official anime adaptation, and would follow other major Shonen Jump+ standouts that have already made the jump to screens in the past like Spy x Family, DAN DA DAN, 2.5 Dimensional Seduction, Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku, Kaiju No. 8 and many more.
