Expatriate X-Men, the first issue of which goes on sale October 29th, is the title that Exceptional X-Men transforms into during Age of Revelation and will see the team on a mission that isnโ€™t just high stakes but threatens to tear the very team apart. With everything on the line, the timing couldnโ€™t be worse and now, ComicBook as an exclusive first look at the exciting upcoming first issue as well as design sheets giving us our best look yet at the characters making up this new X-Men story. Some of these designs were first unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year, but this is the first time fans will get to see them in great detail โ€“ and in some cases, in full color as well. You can check them out for yourself below.

A New Status Quo For the X-Men (And New Challenges)

Age of Revelation has given the X-Men a new status quo, one that in a sense takes a different approach to the idea of a utopian haven for mutant kind. While such a haven is an idea thatโ€™s been explored before โ€” most notably during the much-acclaimed Krakoa Era, Age of Revelation sees Doug Ramsey, aka Revelation take on the task given him by Apocalypse to create a world predicated on survival of the fittest, aka only the โ€œfittestโ€ survived. That means mutants which means this new utopia is based on a lie, with the Earth reshaping itself at Dougโ€™s command to wipe out humanity until itโ€™s a mutant home world. As you can imagine, itโ€™s not something the heroes will take lying down.

Hereโ€™s how Marvel describes Expatriate X-Men #1: โ€œUnited by war! X years later, like the fallen and reassembled United States, the new team of Ms. Marvel, Bronze, Melee, and Rift rises! They have seized control of the Mississippi River waters that divide mutant kind from the rest of humanity. Feared and powerful, their guerilla tactics keep them in control โ€” until a high-stakes mission to extract a valuable asset threatens to tear them apart. Can they hold together when everythingโ€™s on the line?โ€

Expatriate X-Men #1 goes on sale October 29th.
