The PlayStation State of Play on September 24th was expected to give more information on upcoming titles like Saros, Marvel’s Wolverine, and more Sony titles, but no one could have seen the surprise announcement of one remaster. Not only this, but shortly after, another iconic title from the PlayStation 2 was revealed to be receiving a remaster as well. For those who have played the games already, this is an excellent way to revisit history and play enhanced versions of these games. Newcomers, however, will be able to experience these games for the first time and see why they were such hits on release.

Both Deus Ex Remastered and Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition are set to release in 2026. The rebuilt cyberpunk adventure will be available on February 5th, 2026, while Koei Techmo will release on March 19th, 2026. These remastered versions give the games enhanced graphics and other quality-of-life features that will make them the best way to play. While these reveals happened at a Sony event, both titles will launch on other platforms the same day. Deus EX Remastered will also be coming to Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch, while Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition makes it way to Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 1 & 2.
Deus Ex takes place in the year of 2052 and is experienced through the eyes of JC Denton, a Nano-augmented UNACO operative tasked with protecting the city and order as players participate in an investigation that uncovers more and more lies. The game begins as a simple mission, but soon becomes a turning point in human history.
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition combines both Dynasty Warriors 3 and Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends in one package. In a long series led by the most recent Dynasty Warriors Origins and upcoming DLC, this title remains one of the most acclaimed when it comes to 1 vs. 1,000 action. The exciting revival will bring this classic title to modern consoles and show just how the series became what it is today.
With the remasters, players will be able to experience these classic games like never before. Players can pre-order today to ensure they are ready to go on launch day. The original titles are still available, but it may just be worth waiting until the remasters are available if it’s your first time experiencing them. Both series have numerous titles in their lineups that make checking out the original releases now worth it though. While Deus Ex and its series is heavily story-based, the Dynasty Warriors series is not and can be picked up in any other, meaning you don’t need to play Dynasty Warriors 3 to experience it fully.
Right now, the gaming industry has seen remake after remake, remaster after remaster, hit store shelves, but part of that has to be due to the increase in development time new installments take. Releasing a remaster ahead of a new mainline launch is a great way to get old and new fans back into the franchises and excited for what’s to come next. Both aforementioned series are iconic in their own right and have long, storied histories in gaming. Bringing them back into the fray on PS5 is a great way to rebuild their legacies.
