Rumiko Takahashi’s classic Ranma 1/2 manga made its grand return to TV screens last year with a brand new revival anime series adapting the manga from the very beginning for a new generation, and a second season is now on the way. Hitting this October, Netflix has finally locked down its release date with a brand new trailer and poster to help celebrate the upcoming premiere of Ranma 1/2 Season 2. Teasing new characters and all sorts of wacky shenanigans coming our way, you can check out the new look at Ranma 1/2 Season 2 below.

Ranma 1/2 Season 2 Sets October Release Date With Netflix

Ranma 1/2 Season 2 will be officially making its debut with Netflix on October 4th, and will be streaming its episodes worldwide. This premiere date also matches up with its premiere in Japan, so that means each of the episodes will likely be airing on a weekly basis much like the first season (rather than being held back for a few weeks or longer as seen with some of the recent seasonal anime releases). That was one of the bigger worries fans had ahead of this new season’s release, but thankfully it doesn’t look like that’s the case. The staff and cast from the first season of Ranma 1/2′s revival anime series will be returning with Konosuke Uda directing the new season for MAPPA once more, Kimiko Ueno overseeing the scripts, and Hiromi Tanaguchi handling the character designs.

Returning cast members from the first season confirmed to return in these new episodes (as seen in action with the trailer) include Kappei Yamaguchi as boy Ranma, Megumi Hayashibara as girl Ranma, Noriko Hidaka as Akane, and Rei Sakuma as Shampoo. New additions to the voice cast include Toshihiko Seki as Mousse, Kaori Nazuka as Ukyo Kuonji, Kazuhiko Inoue as Happosai, Rin Mizuhara as Cologne, and Akira Ishida as Hikaru Gosunkugi.

Rumiko Takahashi’s classic manga series have been getting brand new anime adaptations one after another as part of Shogakukan’s massive 100th anniversary celebration. Beginning with a full adaptation of the Inuyasha sequel, Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon, continuing with two seasons of a revival for Urusei Yatsura, and then even continuing further with an upcoming anime for Mao, Ranma 1/2 is keeping up the hot streak with some incredible adaptation of these classic works.

That first season was a hit with Netflix last Fall, so it’s likely that it will be taking that even further with the next season. There are going to be a lot of shows that fans will want to keep an eye out for in the coming weeks, and Netflix has certainly already started out the season with one of the biggest offerings overall.
