Concept art for the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake has leaked online. Star Wars is one of the biggest franchises of all-time and it used to feel like you couldn’t go a few months without a new Star Wars game. However, times have changed and we get them more like every couple of years. There are a variety of reasons for that but one Star Wars video game fans have wanted to see for years is a remake of Knights of the Old Republic. The BioWare RPG was a masterpiece of original storytelling within the Star Wars universe and unfortunately, there really hasn’t been anything quite like it outside of the KOTOR series.

In 2021, it was confirmed that we’d get a remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic from Aspyr Media. Said remake would have real-time combat and some big changes to make it feel more modern and adapted to a wider audience, so it was seen as a fairly ambitious project. The developer is best known for ports of older Star Wars games to modern consoles, so some had fears of if the studio could actually pull this off. Eventually, it was reported that Aspyr was pulled off of the Knights of the Old Republic remake and the project moved to Saber Interactive.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake Concept Art Leaks
The remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has been a big question mark for gamers for years now. Some had hoped to hear more about it by now, if not have already played it. Unfortunately, the game has been shrouded in total secrecy. It has been confirmed multiple times that the Knights of the Old Republic remake is still in the works, but we have yet to actually see any sort of progress on the project.
With that said, MP1st has shared a leaked piece of concept art of Aspyr’s version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake. The concept art shows off Kashyyyk, the Wookiee planet that was featured in Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith. The location played a prominent role in Knights of the Old Republic along with other Star Wars games around that time. Of course, Aspyr’s concept art could still be used for the new iteration of this remake, but it’s unclear if that’s the case.
Either way, it’s one of the only actual glimpses we have gotten at the Knights of the Old Republic remake outside of its teaser trailer. It might not be much, but it’s something. Maybe we’ll hear more about this remake sometime within the next year, because it’s still one of the most anticipated projects out there should it see a release.
