Some of Nickelodeon’s biggest classic movies are now streaming completely for free thanks to a major update that’s hit this month. Nickelodeon first kicked off its original movies brand over 30 years ago with the debut of a couple of live-action movies highlighting its future stars, and with it launched a whole new era of children’s media in theaters. The franchises that have since hit the big screen have found their own success with the network in the years that followed, but many of the studio’s earliest hits are still held in high regard by fans of a certain era.

It’s now going to be easier to watch many of these earliest Nickelodeon Movies hits thanks to a new update that’s hit Pluto TV for September. The streaming service added a huge new wave of on-demand feature films that can be watched completely for free (or through its special programming channels if you prefer), and that includes some major Nickelodeon classics such as Harriet the Spy, The Rugrats Movie trilogy, The Wild Thornberrys Movie, Rango and many more that you can stream now.
Nickelodeon Movies Now Streaming for Free With Pluto TV

As of September 1st, the following Nickelodeon Movies are now available for streaming with Pluto TV:
- Harriet the Spy
- Hotel for Dogs
- Rango
- The Rugrats Movie
- Rugrats in Paris: The Movie
- Rugrats Go Wild
- Snow Day
- The Wild Thornberrys Movie
- Yours, Mine, & Ours
This latest update is quite a significant one as these Nickelodeon Movies are some of the highest rated among fans. Harriet the Spy is a particularly historical release as it was the very first film ever released by the Nickelodeon Movies brand. Starring the lateย Michelle Trachtenberg in the titular lead role it was her very first film debut and launched a much bigger career for the star in the decades that followed. To this day, it’s hard to find Nickelodeon fans from that era who don’t remember the movie or its orange VHS tape release that came after.
The Rugrats Movie trilogy is also a notable update for Pluto TV as The Rugrats Movie was the first film with Nickelodeon that took one of their animated series brands and adapted it for the big screen. It offered a cinematic adventure that fans would never see on the same scale with the TV series, and was such a hit that two follow up films came in the years after. Even leading to a full crossover feature film event with The Wild Thornberrys (whose film is also now streaming) in Rugrats Go Wild.
What’s Next for Nickelodeon Movies?

Thankfully the Nickelodeon Movies brand is still very much active after all these years as many of their upcoming projects are in various stages of development. This includes previously announced projects such as The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants coming later this year and Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie and The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender coming in 2026, but also many other films reported or rumored to be in the works at this time.
Nickelodeon is developing a follow up to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and have been rumored to maybe even work on a live-action Ninja Turtles film. Other rumors have teased new takes on classics like Rugrats and even Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, so fans can rest easy knowing that there are still going to be many Nickelodeon Movies coming our way.
