Bob’s Burgers Creator Teases Fans About What to Expect From Episode 300

Bob’s Burgers is gearing up to return with FOX’s Animation Domination block later this evening with Season 16 of the series, and the creator behind it all is teasing fans about what to expect from its premiere, which is also going to be the 300th episode in the franchise overall. Bob’s Burgers has become one of the major pillars of Fox’s adult animation works, and was recently confirmed to be renewed for four more seasons alongside other hits like The Simpsons and Family Guy. There are going to be even more milestones to come, but the animated series is going all out for Episode 300.

Bob’s Burgers will be kicking off Season 16’s run with the premiere of Episode 300. Titled “Grand Pre-Pre-Pre-Opening,” series creator Loren Bouchard spoke with TV Insider about what fans can expect from the milestone episode. Not only teasing that it’s going to explore the first day of the actual Bob’s Burgers restaurant, but that it’s going to be the day Tina is born as well. Making it for an even more chaotic situation for Bob and Linda that they had to overcome early into their restaurant dreams.

“We know Bob has this dream to start a restaurant, but we really wanted to unpack just how much he couldn’t have done it without Linda, and just how much she was driving it,” Bouchard teased. “It was her optimism that was the engine behind the guy with the dream. And then on top of it, [they’re] having a baby.” Bouchard also teased about which characters we’re going to see as part of this new look into the restaurant’s origins, and that naturally means some of its biggest regulars like Teddy and Mort. But getting to that point was admittedly complicated.

“What I don’t like to do in a flashback is just congratulate yourself for putting characters in and being like, ‘See? This is when they first met,’ because it can get a little precious, but of course we did do some of that because that’s how it would’ve gone down,” Bouchard explained. “You’ve got to hire a handyman to help you put your booths together, so this is how they met Tedd. And you’re going to meet your neighbors, so you’re going to meet Mort the mortician.” But it all ties back into the impact Bob and Linda have on those around them as well.

Bob’s Burgers Episode 300 Will Have That Emotion Fans Love

“One of the things we love to do with the show is talk about how this little restaurant, they may be struggling, but they have an impact,” Bouchard continued. “We all have an impact. We all touch other lives. And Bob and Linda touch all these other lives, and sometimes they know it, and sometimes they don’t. And sometimes they’re in need of a reminder of that. A character can have their whole origin story because of a burger they ate. Those moments exist in real life, and they certainly are fun to find in our world. So that’s part of what we were doing, drawing lines between these characters you might have seen passing by.”

As for when this milestone episode premieres, Bob’s Burgers Season 16 premieres with FOX’s Animation Domination block on Sunday, September 28th at 9:30PMPT. Episode 300 is only the start of the season, and it’s already looking to be another strong season of episodes with such a potential banger like this one to kick it all off.
