This season builds on the strengths of the first, amplifying its mix of high-stakes action and heartfelt romance through the bizarre journey of Takakura Ken (Okarun) and Momo Ayase as they continue the quest to recover Okarun’s lost privates. While every episode delivered standout moments, certain installments distinguished themselves as the very best among an already strong lineup. Based on various factors, here’s how all 12 episodes of Dandadan Season 2 are ranked.
12) Season 2 Episode 1, “Like, This is the Legend of the Giant Snake”

While the ending of Dandadan’s first season may have felt abrupt, the opening episode of Season 2 carries a similar feeling, as it jumps straight into a new arc with Momo, Okarun, and Jiji. The episode quickly places Momo against the threats posed by the locals of the mountain area, with Turbo Granny arriving just in time to help.
Meanwhile, Jin and Okarun also find themselves drawn into a major new danger. For fans returning to the series six months after Season 1, the lack of context may come as a surprise. A brief recap would have helped ease the transition, but instead, the abrupt start leaves the episode feeling less compelling compared to others in the season.
11) Season 2 Episode 9, “I Want to Rebuild the House”

This episode is another laid-back installment, focusing exactly on what its title suggests: rebuilding Momo and Seiko’s house. It brings together many people eager to help them restore their home after the Evil Eye’s destruction, with Chiquitita playing a key role by using alien nanoskin technology to assist in the reconstruction.
However, the main reason this episode doesn’t rank higher is the letdown surrounding its anticipated fight. Fans expected a stronger showdown between Okarun and Evil Eye following his training, but the battle ended almost immediately. This missed opportunity is the sole reason the episode may not have lived up to expectations.
10) Season 2 Episode 5, “We Can All Stay Together”

Following the conclusion of the Evil Eye arc, this episode takes a more laid-back approach, showing the main cast coming together to live in Momo’s house to help both her and Jin keep Evil Eye from running rampant. While it doesn’t feature any standout events, it serves as an important installment that highlights how the group unites around a common goal, ultimately strengthening their bond.
The episode also sprinkles in a touch of romance with a sweet moment between Momo and Okarun holding hands. Overall, it maintains a lighter tone through a series of small, everyday events, an essential breather after the intense action and high stakes of the previous episode.
9) Season 2 Episode 8, “You Can Do It, Okarun”

Following Okarun’s resolve to grow stronger, Turbo Granny takes him to the school in the middle of the night, leading to a showdown where Okarun and Akira face off against the ghosts of musical composers. This battle serves primarily as a stepping stone in Okarun’s training.
Presented in a striking black-and-white grayscale, the episode delivers a classic shonen-style training arc as Akira and Okarun overcome their spectral foes. While it may not stand out as one of the season’s major highlights, the uniqueness of the opponents makes the episode worthy of credit.
8) Season 2 Episode 3, “You Won’t Get Away With This”

After Evil Eye’s menacing appearance, fans were left wondering how Momo and Okarun could possibly overcome this threat while also dealing with the looming danger of the Giant Snake. This is where Okarun steps up as the male lead, showcasing not only his determination but also his nerdy, analytical side in his confrontation with Evil Eye.
Having already used full throttle once, Okarun takes a clever approach this time. Instead of unleashing his power all at once, he divides it into a hundred punches, each carrying one percent of his strength. The sequence is undeniably cool, and fans of My Hero Academia will immediately notice the similarity to how Deku learned to wield his quirk in smaller bursts rather than going all out at once.
7) Season 2 Episode 11, “Hey, It’s a Kaiju”

The penultimate episode of Dandadan Season 2 is, without a doubt, one of the most action-packed of the season. Building on the events of the previous episode, it confirms that the latest threat is a colossal Kaiju bent on destroying everything in its path. Momo, Okarun, and Akira join forces to take on the monstrous enemy, but the Kaiju gains the upper hand thanks to its invisibility powers.
As the Kaiju continues to overwhelm the main cast with its towering presence and sheer strength, the spotlight shifts to newcomer Kinta Sakata. He steps up by converting Momo’s house, using the nanoskin, into a massive robot ready for battle. The relentless pace and high stakes of this episode keep fans on the edge of their seats, fully justifying its higher rank.
6) Season 2 Episode 2, “The Evil Eye”

The second episode of the series introduces the Evil Eye yokai, something fans had been eagerly awaiting ever since hints of its existence were laid back in Season 1. The anticipation for Evil Eye’s debut was on par with that of Kinta Sakata, but what truly surprised viewers was how this yokai immediately stood in a league of its own.
This episode also solidifies why Jin is one of the main characters, showcasing him as a prodigy with immense spiritual energy and unparalleled physical prowess. Thankfully, Evil Eye’s childlike nature prevents it from being completely destructive, showing it isn’t pure evil. This episode ranks higher as it firmly establishes Jin and Evil Eye as central components of the series.
5) Season 2 Episode 10, “The Secret Art of Being Attractive”

This is another episode that highlights Okarun and Momo’s romance, but with the added twist of Kinta Sakata, this season’s most anticipated new character, making his debut. The episode recreates the scene of Momo and Okarun searching for each other at school but failing to meet, with glimpses of Kinta adding a fresh spin to the sequence.
The comedy also shines here, particularly through Kinta’s over-the-top attempts at dirty talk to win over girls. While that alone would have made the episode memorable, it concludes on an even bigger note with the shocking introduction of a Kaiju, one of the most unexpected monsters the series could have unveiled.
4) Season 2 Episode 7, “Feeling Kinda Gloomy”

This episode stands out as one of the special ones, offering a brief breather from the bizarre chaos and focusing on Dandadan’s greatest strength, the romance. As Momo takes on a part-time job to help her grandmother and repair their house, Okarun visits her at work, turning the episode into the kind of sweet slice-of-life moment fans had been hoping to see.
But that’s not all, Okarun also vows to grow stronger, leading him to his school at night with Turbo Granny and Akira. What follows is a hilarious encounter that introduces some of the most musical enemies Okarun has ever faced.
3) Season 2 Episode 12, “Clash! Space Kaiju Vs. Giant Robot”

One of the most anticipated aspects of this season was the debut of the enigmatic Kinta Sakata, especially after teasers highlighted just how bizarre he would be, even within this already eccentric narrative. This episode makes it clear what a distinctive presence Kinta brings. Piloting Momo’s house, now transformed into a megazord-like giant robot, he adds a spectacular new layer of action as Momo and Akira join him in taking down the Kaiju.
While Kinta operating the Buddha-shaped giant robot alone is enough to make the finale one of the season’s best episodes, the true highlight comes with its cliffhanger ending. A mysterious new girl emerges from the defeated Kaiju and immediately kisses Okarun, setting up a shocking twist. This cliffhanger makes the wait for Dandadan Season 3 all the more painful, though fans can take comfort in knowing it’s already on the way.
2) Season 2 Episode 6, “We Became a Family”

There is one key reason this episode ranks so high, and it is the unexpected appearance of the musical band Hayashi, brought in to exorcise the Evil Eye from Jin. Nobody anticipated this episode would turn out to be so special, especially since the scene in the manga only spans a few pages.
Science Saru, however, elevates the moment spectacularly, weaving in a clever Back to the Future reference while also introducing two original rock songs that will have viewers headbanging along. If not for the climactic events in the next entry, this episode would have easily stood out as the best of Dandadan Season 2.
1) Season 2 Episode 4, “That’s, Like, Way Deadly”

The fourth episode of the second season of Dandadan isn’t just the best of this season, but it stands as the best episode of Dandadan to date. This is largely because it brings the Evil Eye arc to a close, doing so with such intensity and impact that it feels like a climactic peak the series may struggle to surpass. To defeat Evil Eye, the episode unites nearly every ally Okarun and Momo have gathered since Season 1, with the only exception being Aira.
The surprises in this episode are equally remarkable, capped off by the unexpected heroics of Taro, the anatomical model, who traps Evil Eye within its body. The involvement of nearly all the key characters makes the episode feel like the true climax of the first season, and even gives the impression that this is where the first season of the anime should have concluded, rather than at its earlier abrupt ending.
